Another fight for a spot in WWE’s Money in the Bank Women’s Ladder Match took place during tonight’s SmackDown, where Raquel Rodriguez vs. Shayna Baszler. The two haven’t intersected much at SmackDown yet, but tonight they had a chance to compete one-on-one for a chance to compete in the big event next month. Rodriguez was the aggressor and Baszler kicked out for a loop, but Baszler was able to keep her power off the table by locking her leg. Rodriguez managed to beat it and, with a great finish, earn her spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Rodriguez went straight to Pazler, hitting her in a corner and then carrying her, but Pazler ran away and tried to lock in a serve. Rodriguez was able to knock it out and break the fist, but Pazler started targeting Rodriguez’s leg in the corner, wrapping it around ropes and hitting it with below-knee kicks. Then she did it again on the other side of the ring and continued to attack her leg, but Rodriguez hit her elbow in the face to give her some space.
Rodriguez knocked Baszler off and went for the cover but was sent off. Rodriguez then raised Baszler for a Power Slam but Baszler’s cut blocked it and then hit a knee that ran into the cover, but Rodriguez was sent off.
Pazler then decided to hang but Rodriguez bumped her into the corner and then lifted her and hit her with a cap, it was for Pazler that Rodriguez pinned her on the three count and took the win.
The match will now feature Rodriguez, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan and Lacey Evans, and it looks like Schutze and Alia will also be vying for a place in the match next week. More matches are shown for the event, but in the meantime, you can check out all of the confirmed matches for the card below.
